New Course: Story Shapes Part II - Structuring Intricate Plots

Now Available for Learning

Hi!

I'm glad to announce a new course on story shapes: Story Shapes Part II: Structuring Intricate Plots

This continues an unusual, visual way of looking at stories, an uncanny method to see the movements of a tale from a bird’s eye perspective. This is an on-demand video course.

In part one, we looked at six story shapes on a graph, with the horizontal axis being time and the vertical axis being the character's fortune and misfortune over time.

Here in part 2, we get into more unusual story shapes, some of which you might find as far back as paleolithic cave painting: circles, diamonds, and branches; as well as puzzles and parentheses.

We'll also explore plenty of relatable story examples, to get a practical sense of how you might apply these shapes to stories you're working on, whether those stories are personal or vocational.

The sales stuff:

I'm offering this at an opening discount, for 15 dollars.

Buy it here

I'm also lowering the price on my three course bundle, which includes Story Shapes 1, and Brainstorming Story Ideas, for 30.

I'll hold that for a week or so, then the prices will go up a wee bit. It’s a good sales technique, doncha know.

These are both available on Gum Road, a solid retailer where you can easily get a free account. With these purchases, you’ll be able to either watch the videos online, or download them to your own computer.

Buying these is a great way to learn an intuitive approach to stories, and to support me as a creator. I greatly appreciate it.

Another Way to Watch Them

If you're on Skillshare, those first two courses are available there, and the third one will come soon. If you'd like to try out Skillshare, here's a link for a free month.

So either by buying one or more courses directly, or by watching them on Skillshare, I invite you to dive into birds’ eye view story-thinking.

Happy creating!

Until the next,

Theo
